Lords and Ladies
Saturday night we went to see the theatrical adaptation of Terry Pratchett’s Lords and Ladies. It was in a small theatre and worked surprisingly well. All of the major scenes were included; we even got to see the Stick-and-Bucket dance.
The set was remarkably simple; a wall/bridge with a door, a few chairs and some foam rubber rocks. The actors did a bang-up job, however, and managed to capture the essence of all the characters quite well. In a little in-joke, the Librarian was reading the book in one of his final appearances.
It was a brilliant production, and I expect we’re going to see a few more plays at that theatre in the future.
