Aestia updates
Blue Rose has really changed my perceptions of campaign design. I’m adopting more and more of the mechanics as we playtest them, and a couple of them have caused big changes.
The Wealth system gets rid of the accounting simulation aspects and speeds up shopping for equipment. So it’s in. Besides prices for everything, this means I need to rethink the crafting system for both mudane and magical items. I will probably wait for the Blue Rose Companion before overhauling it, though. Then again, I might not.
The arcana system just works for magic. I’m dropping over 300 traditional spells and pulling in about 70 arcana to replace them. Some tweaks are needed here to get the feel I want, but the system is proving to be sound.
The feat-every-level we are going to try tomorrow night. I think it will help a lot in pushing the profile of underused feats, especially social ones, and not disturb the balance too much since we can tweak prequisites as needed.
I’ve also adopted the Conviction system (renamed hero points), tweaked a couple of feats to work with it, and am using the alignment-free personality feats (though not as feats, per se) from Dynasties and Demagogues as my basis for regaining points. We’re going to playtest this tomorrow as well.

How did this go? Curious as I was looking to do something similiar in my campaign.
